Getting out of the CLOSET

Black Friday week it was...(exhale).

Its not over!.. its just a warm-up to the upcoming "shop till you drop" Xmas spree.

It's all about buying, spending your hard earned cash on what you already have and less on what really matters: YOUR NEEDS.

Wants have an overpowering pull because of that instant gratifying sweet energy they carry and the power we tend to exude. Thanks to the one-minute millionare syndrome, we feel great for just a minute.

You've got enough clothes and shoes to last you a life time (I know, my closet is full) and you only use a fraction of the lot. Yah, yah, you gained or lost weight in the past few months for valid reasons I guess. You've just been hitched, so a cute little number is a non-negotiate.
You can't wear the same clothes two times; say what? if you are a celeb I will understand, if not, think again.

A new set of clothes and a new wardrobe will definitely burn your purse, and its not recycleable. You wear it, you keep it. How about giving it to the less fortunate - just a suggestion, please don't kill me.

Did you know that celebrieties don't buy the designer clothes they wear; they are sponsored. Actors and Fashion Models don't even think of buying the clothes they're showing. Go visit them at home, you will find them in flip-flops and faded jeans - no big deal.
And, that cute slim display doll

wearing your 'to die for' designer dress is nothing but a plastic mould with no hips or cellulite.

Splurging more on material things and less on you doesn't make sense. Does it?

Its a pair of Guess or True Religion Jeans not you, yes it pumps up your groove and thats all it does, nothing else. This has all to do with your circle, the 'people' of influence in your life:

P - PLEASERS
E - EGO-CENTRICS
O - OPERATORS
P - PULLERS
L - LABELLERS
E - EXTORTIONISTS

How about a weekend away with your loved one/s; a break-away holiday or a spiritual retreat; a day in a spa; a book; a course or study; self awareness, yoga, aerobics or meditation classes, anything that will tickle your SOUL and bring forth your true happiness that will last.

"I woke up like this!", no, you didn't wake up one morning a Splurger, something happened that made you a buy-o-lic or a buy-o-phobe.

With me it was my background, as a child I wished for everything from food to clothing and for a better life.

* I wished I was white or at least coloured
* l wished I could eat rice instead of mielierys
* I wished I could have chicken instead of meat bones
* I wished I could eat white bread instead of homemade brown bread
* I wished for a television and a stereo
* I wished for a lounge suite instead of a dining room table and chairs
* I couldn't wait for Xmas, as it was the only time I could get new clothes
* I wished for my own pair of school shoes
* I wished for my own Prince Charming

When the time came for me to have and experince it all (weave included), I dug in. I over-indulged in everything and soon I was ADDICTED - to the new attention and the new lifestyle.

I held on for dear life.

Do you know how it feels to try something out, for the first time? Scary and exciting at the same time, a deadly concoction. It's not marvellous until you try it a few times. In most cases there's someone cheering you up and cheering you on;

- 'Try it, you won't regret'
- 'Wow! it fits you so well as if it were made for you'
- "You're so beautiful, where did you get that'
- 'Wow! this must be expensive'
- 'Who are you wearing?'
- 'Wow, what a catch'
- 'With this! im going to dazzle everyone'
- 'How many likes? favorites, tweets and re-tweets? (#today's language)

We may have different stories to tell but it boils down to a lack of self esteem; craving external confirmation and appraisal; living for others not Self.

Material cannot affirm who you are, full-stop.

The sooner you understand this the better, you will soon gain your freedom to choose and be you, the real you not a puppet of the system (like the word).

It should always be about YOU, what is good for you. Donot live your life to impress others, let life be an expression of who you are.

If you don't deal with this monster you will leave it to devour your own off-spring, an unpalatable bequest if you ask me.

Deal with it now, let it be No.1... in your New Years resolutions.

I didn't wake up like this!

Life Lesson No.2

Oh.. how I miss you guys! you can not believe. I wish I had all the time solely for you.

I enjoy your company, you are my audience...I can feel you and see you with my Soul' eye. Please invite your friends and share my blog with others, you will be amazed - everything happens for a reason (this has been affirmed and confirmed many a times in my spiritual life). Don't ever miss an opportunity to share what feels good and right to you at any given moment.

Its all about sharing..

This may sound very cliche' but in reality your Attitude determines your Altitude. It doesn't matter how big or small the challenge is - the Magnitude is only a Latitude (guiding principle) and nothing more.

Do you still remember the "how far can you go" dance routine? I barely made it down to the floor and there were those who could touch the ground, up and down, ten more times. Anyway, i'm not a dancer - its no big deal, that's what I used to tell myself and my friends. That was my attitude to dancing.

How many times do you feel unaffected by a situation, or qualifying a certain loss or failure as nothing.

Losing her job as a Junior Accountant at a well established firm for Thuli was no big deal, she has had enough of the 'boss lady', her Manager, anyway. Soon enough she got another job, a better job and we all celebrated. Within three weeks she confessed that she didn't like the vibe at work, the environment was too constrained - no chit-chats in the office even during tea or lunch hours, its work-work all the way. A meeting with the boss behind a closed door meant 'double-trouble'.Three months was enough, she quit.

Well, after quitting and quitting, every other relationship included, she realized that she was getting nowhere slowly. She tells me, "you know what Nondi? it took me just one minute, one minute to change my game." She had to change her Attitude towards Life.

This is how you do it:

Understanding that:

  1. God owes you nothing. Everything you need and everything you can be is with you. He gave you All and nothing less. You can only pray for His Divine Love, Guidance and  His Mercy and nothing else.
  2. Your Mom and Dad owe you nothing, they have given you a Life. You are not dead, are you? Treasure it. Some parents have even gone the extra mile to give their children education, some cannot, but you live.
  3. You are on your own. You are an individual, stop comparing yourself to other individuals. Unique is what you are.
  4. ALL is Perfect. God's Creation is Perfect, everything is Balanced. The sun rises everyday, the moon and the stars. Sometimes its overcast, sometimes it rains - just to balance things out. This Winter may be freezing cold than last season and icier than 2013 but it is still Winter (it is not going to change for you) Go get the right gear for the season - a bathing suite in a cold weather won't do. Rise and Shine!
  5. You reap what you sow. You sow a little, you reap a little. You sow nothing, you reap nothing. You sow more, you reap more (nice Balance hey).
  6. You only live once (y.o.l.o). Do it now! Change your gears, can't you hear the irritable jarring sound - it says, Change meee..

A positive attitude is ALL you need!

Cheers..

THE BALANCING ACT!

I had an eye opening conversation with a Naturopathic Practitioner, Jason, at my office this morning.

He asked me how was my weekend and I said, 'exceptional, except for the flu', pointing at my stuffy nose. He asked if I was taking anything to alleviate the symptoms. I said yes - I took an aspirin last night. He advised me not to take anything to stop the flu because this will cut the healing process, sending my system to retro-gate and this will exacerbate the situation. Instead, I must support my system by drinking lots of water and taking Vitamins.

This is what sent chills in my back, happy chills (my Soul confirmations) - Neal Donald Walsh in his book; Conversations with God calls his a "double whammy".

He said;
'a flu or any disease for that matter is nothing else, but the Body's way of getting rid of any bacteria or viruses from the system - it's the immune system at work. He went on to say that we are fearfully and wonderfully made!, quoting Psalm 139:14.

Amen, brother

I agree. We are created with Love, with-out defect. The Body has an in-built defense mechanism and support system, the immune system, to fight and destroy any invading enemy. The invasion (infection) causes an imbalance in our system, be it digestive, hormonal, physical or otherwise.

The Body in the process of realigning (getting rid of the invader) and bringing back the BALANCE we unfortunately get affected, and we call this dis-ease. Disease is not the enemy but an informant, telling you and me that the house (God's Temple) is not in order.

So, don't wait for the dis-ease, Honor your Creator and take good care of yourself, Say no to DRUGS, any drugs!

Do you have any health or spirituality related questions? Your questions and comments are welcome.

Love u!

LIFE LESSON No.1

Hello again..

Its been a long week; lots of thought and less writing, but 'don't worry be happy' because there's gonna be more thought proviking and soul awakening writing coming your way.

Well, its all about BALANCE, my eleven year old made it absolutely clear in our mini family meeting. The good news is that they are with me 100%, supporting me all the way, something that is 'very' missing from my side. I thought multi-tasking was a woman thing! But iv'e failed, dismally.

God loves me, and everyone else, He wouldn't do anything to alienate me from my family, let alone his beloved children who need help. So, im the guilty party.

Let me confess, besides my family i've got these many Talents; all screaming at me for attention and realisation. Picture a pregnant woman with all these babies in her tummy who all want to be birthed at the same time.

I haven't given my creative and artistic spirit much thought, space and platform in my busy life, i've been busy doing what normal people are supposed to do, WORKING. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with work but there is something wrong when your work has nothing to do with your passion and talent.

I started embracing my spirituality in my late 30''s (very late if you ask me). Thank you Jesus! thank you for your visitation, because without that dream I don't know where I would be today. You made a personal commitment to awaken my sleeping SOUL. Thank you again!

There's so much and yet so little time. I can do ALL with some good TIME management skill-ing.

Game on!
